Inspiration Board !!!!

    One night in July, some friends and I decided to create a vision board. These friends of mines have BIG dreams just like I do. We love to speak positive words into each others life's. These women are my SOUL MATES. To us the word soul mates does not have to be a man and a woman in a lovey dovey relationship, to us this word means so much more. A SOUL MATE is someone that protects your SOUL, your vision and your walk with Christ. These women inspire me to be my very best in every way possible . One of these friends made a couple of vision boards before and encourage the rest of us to make one. We spent the whole night cutting, paste and flipping though magazines. These activities may not seem fun to you but it was enjoyable to me. As I searched though magazines like ESSENCE and EBONY, I came across quotes that were inspiring; Quotes like "the power of our voice" and "Faith over fear". After cutting out these quotes I realized I wanted my board to be more than just material items and goals, I wanted my board to carry loads of wisdom. For this board WISDOM was the main focus because material items and goals can fade away.

      My board also has sections for LOVE, HEALTH, TRAVEL, FASHION, FINANCE, CAREER and FAMILY. For every section I made sure it was only on my board to glorify God and not myself. Every section on this board has a PURPOSE.

LOVE: The purpose of love is to give my relationships to God. To not focus on random men that don't need to be in my life. To wait on God for my husband and not to try and speed up the process by trying to find my husband myself. To believe that God will bless me with a great love story and the storybook wedding of my dreams. I know you may be wondering why President Obama is in the corner of my love section, he's there because our president is a LEADER. I want my husband to be a MAN of GOD and a LEADER. Mr.Obama also has some CHARACTERISTICS I adore. He seems to be humble and caring.

HEALTH: The purpose of health is to focus on taking care of my TEMPLE. This section is not about trying to get in to a size two. Its about taking care of what God gave me. If I can't take care of the body that God gave me how do I expect to take care of his? How am I going to SERVE his people if I'm are always tried because I'm not eating the right foods that gives me energy. Treat your body like you would treat the BODY of CHRIST.

TRAVEL: The purpose of travel is to be able to go on MISSION trips around the world and to enjoy all the BEAUTIFUL places God placed on this earth.

FASHION: Jesus wore a tunic made of fine linen , he was fly.Why can't Christians be fly too? You can be as fly as you want as long as it is in your budget or price range. Remember you need to give your 10% back to God and do right with your other 90%. Don't put your value in these MATERIAL things. Your value is in GOD.
When the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they divided his clothes among the four of them. They also took his robe, but it was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom. - John 19:23
Jesus's robe had no seam, to fly. :)

FINANCE: This area many people have a hard time with and so do I. I'm in the process of learning how to be wise with my 90%. The four places your money should go before you buy that nice pair of shoes are: TITHES, OFFERINGS, LIFE INSURANCE and SAVINGS. I will explain these four in a FUTURE POST.

CAREER: The purpose of career is for me to remember the VISION God gave me and what steps I need to take to get there. To follow the PURPOSE or calling he has on my life.

FAMILY: The purpose of family is to LOVE them, CARE for them and do your best to keep them wanting more of God.


    God has a part in every area. A great part. I'm going off the visions he gave me. Every time I look at that board I want to remember what God has planned for me. I'm not sure when its going to happen or how but I have great faith in him. I pray that my faith will grow and become stronger. This board was made to help me remember not to settle for less. To expect the best and to become the best. To remember that I'm Gods jewel and that I'm a part of his family and since I'm in his family that means I'm royalty. Royalty gets the best so I need to start believing that my daddy will give me whats best for me. Its does not matter what my situation is right now. God put me on this earth ON PURPOSE. So I need to stick with him and plan everything and do everything with a PURPOSE in mind. We were put on earth to give God the glory.

Many plans are in a man's mind, but it is the Lord's purpose for him that will stand. Proverbs 19: 21

So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31

       The title is called "Inspiration Board" instead of vision board because I wanted to make a board that will inspire me to do better and not chase items.

 Ladies, remember to keep your heels, head and standards high.

Praise and Worship

Praise the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness. Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with the strings and pipe, praise him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the lord.  Psalm 150 1-6


Are you the person that really can't get into praising and worshiping God? Do you ever ask yourself, why are people crying and jumping around in the church? Well I'm here to explain to you the importance of it all. As you can see from the bible verse at top, praise is required. As we praises God we become closer and develop a stronger relationship with him. Praise is also used to fight spiritual battles within ourselves. Praise is a weapon that should be used everyday because the battle does not end until we are good and gone. Praise gives us the chance to pour out our hearts to the Lord and really tell him how we feel. It gives you the chance to get the world and everything in it off your back. Remember this: Praise is not an option. So when your feeling like your too tired to praise, tell yourself praise is not an option. The ememy use all types of things to get us to stop praising or getting close to God.

Examples are but not limited:
TV, video games, parties, sleep, people, food, drugs, alcohol, jobs, idols, material items and more.

So make sure your making God a priority and not an option. A way to make God a priority is by simply putting him FIRST. Put God before your jobs, tv shows, boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife, friends, hobbies, Kids and whatever else you can think about. Set time early in the morning to read his word or a verse and worship him. For you aspiring P31's, "She gets up before dawn to prepare breakfast for her household and plan the day's work for her servant girls." Proverbs 31:15. A Proverbs 31 woman doesn't waste anytime. She does not sleep in all day because its a Saturday morning and she has nothing to do. No, she makes her days fruitful no matter if its going to be a busy day or not. She gets up early to start her day and plan it out. I'm telling you if you take the time to plan out your day and get up early you will get a lot done. I tried it and it works. When you plan out your days make sure you plan time for God and just don't only set time for him in the morning, set time for him throughout your day. Just don't put God in the beginning of you life or the end, put him in the center of it ALL. This tactic is not just for women, it for men as well.

You might say "Its hard for me to get up in the morning..." or "I work late nights..." and ect...
I know its hard, believe me. I work late nights at a fast food restaurants. Some days I start work at 4pm and don't get off until 1 in the morning. Oh and don't forget I have those 8am classes and these club meetings and events I have to attend too. If you think about it, in our mind we never have time, but when we stop making TIME an EXCUSE and start making GOD a PRIORITY we will see that we have a lot of opportunities to praise him. You can praise him in the bathroom at work after a co-worker, boss or customers made you mad. You can praise him in your car on the way to the store. You can praise him in the corner you can praise him ANYWHERE. Remember, you make time for what is important to you. So how important is God to YOU?


After reading this you may say, "Well, I just never could get into praising" or "Its just not my thing". Well here are some ways to set the mood before you worship.

1) Find a place of privacy.
Since I live in a dorm with a roommate, I go to the bathroom to praise and worship God.

2) Turn off things that will distract you.
Like cell phones, TV's, computers and ect

3) Play gospel music
Playing gospel or christian worship music really helps me to go to a higher level in my worship. I play certain songs for certain situations.

4) A bible that you can read.
Its important for you to have a bible that you can read after you worship. After worship I would read certain verses dealing with the issues that I'm trying to overcome or if there is nothing thats on my heart that day, I will pray to God and ask him to guide me to the verses he wants me to read.


Main points: Praise and worship is POWERFUL, it helps fight the spiritual battles within ourselves.
Praise is not an OPTION.
Praise gets us closer to God.
Stop making excuses, make God a PRIORITY.
Make God the center of your life.
You can Praise God ANYWHERE.
Don't beat yourself up if your not praising him as much as you think you should, remember it takes time.

Are you in the WILL of GOD?

    


  As children, our parents tell us that we can be whatever we want to be.  That we can accomplish ANYTHING and EVERYTHING and that we should reach for the STARS, but they forget to tell us this one little thing... if its in GOD'S WILL for you. I'm not saying its wrong for them to tell us these thing but I do believe "if its in God's will" needs to be use more. I know so many people my age beating themselves up because  "THEIR LIFE" is not going as planned. Most of them don't realize if they get away from current people, things and idols they will see the vision that God has for their life.
        As I grew, I knew everything I wanted to do in my life, from what college I would attend, what my major would be and what job I wanted. Umm... and I can say the only thing that stay the same was my major and that was it. In college, I did everything that was connected to the job that I wanted in the future, I had an internship and more. When I was done will that internship I realized it was not the job for me. It took me a whole year to find my purpose because I did not follow the WILL of GOD, I was following my OWN. The funny thing is my WILL and his WILL was similar he just wanted me to take my gifts and work for him.
         So what I'm saying is make sure your in the WILL of GOD and not your on WILL. Don't be afraid to sacrifice for your savior, he knows whats best for you anyways. If your not sure about your purpose now is the time to cut somethings and people out your life so you can hear God or see the vision he has for you. He can't fully give you what you need if you are connect to worldly things. Continue to pray about your purpose every chance you get. I read somewhere that in heaven there is something called a prayer bowl. I think the bowl becomes filled with a liquid fragrance everytime you pray. When the bowl is overflowing the bowl will tip over and the prayers that you prayed will go back to Earth and your prayers are answered. So really take the time to pray out to God about ANYTHING.

So lets follow God's will. :)
